Welcome to our world of delightful stories and adventures!

Bob running high hurdlesOur journey creating a series of books for younger kids (ages 5 through 9) began with “The Great Landscapers” – whimsical marsh hares hopping around our Southwest Florida neighborhood. These funny rabbits, common throughout the southeast US, inspired our first book. Watching them munch on lawns, sometimes a bit too enthusiastically, made us imagine them as tiny landscapers, working together like mowers and trimmers!

Our second book, “The Great Competitors,” takes readers on an exciting Dolphin adventure. After living on Maui for seven years, we were captivated by the incredible Spinner Dolphins, known for their athletic spins in the air.

Our third book, “The Great Little Owls” shines a light on the resilient Burrowing Owls of Southwest Florida, sharing their remarkable story of perseverance and community.

I often say “we” and “our” because I have a fantastic “junior partner” who handles desktop publishing, image editing, and even serves as our VP of Marketing! She prefers to stay behind the scenes but is an essential part of our team.

My educational journey took me from a BA at the University of California, Berkeley, to an MBA at Seattle University. A pivotal moment was attending Santa Rosa Junior College in Northern California, where I discovered my zeal for learning after a lackluster high school experience. Along the way, I gained important experience, from running high hurdles to managing a kitchen in an omelet restaurant.

With a variety of experience – teaching English in China, working in High Tech, co-founding a translation business, and more, I’ve gathered a wealth of stories and a kid’s sense of humor that shines through in our books.
